What is Resveratrol?
Resveratrol is a natural phenol that can be found in many foods like grapes, blueberries, dark chocolate and peanuts. It can be found in abundance within the components of Mediterranean diets such as red wine(1).

Now, Resveratrol is widely used as a dietary supplement. It is well known to have beneficial effects on the lifespan of animals as a caloric restriction mimic, but can it really bring the same benefits which caloric restriction does in humans? Many also wonder if there is an added benefit to exercising if they take resveratrol, or is one redundant in the equation. Below, we will debunk two myths about resveratrol.
According to Adroit Market Research, resveratrol supplement market will reach a value of $115.7 million by 2028. Taking resveratrol in the supplement form has become a growing trend (3)
